By way of introduction.

We're Friends I swear.

So mostly my Job consists of hangin' out with the young man pictured on the left of your screen. His name is Simon. Simon is  funny, bright eyed, caring, gentle, a serious fan of Disney films and profoundly Autistic.
Simon has very little language and so he must express himself in other ways, mostly physical, and in the short time that I've been here, I think I've seen almost the whole range of his physical expression, except for the most extreme manifestations of his frustration or pain, which I'm told are not nice. But if you lived in a body that didn't make sense to you, surrounded by idiots who  were too loud, and didn't understand what you were trying to say no matter how nicely you ask for help, you'd get upset too, wouldn't you? Simon and I have had one run in a little like that, the long and short of it is; I took some of his crisps in the park one day, and now I know that one simply does not take any of Simons crisps if you don't want a good hand squeezin'!! My fault, now I know, sorry.

A typical day for me and Simon involves food, Disney sing-a-long's and an excursion of some kind, twice a week to the swimming pool and the rest of the week on walks around Geneva or in parks near(ish) by. I'm a month in, and I have to say I'm liking Geneva, I feel like I can really serve here, not just in the House here but also amongst the Genevois Baha'is and beyond. I don't acctually have a huge amount of time left here but I feel like I can maybe make that time count, like I can leave the place better then I was when I found it.

Well I gotta go walkies now, so I'll try to post up something again in the next week, I really need to keep this thing runnin at least while I'm here anyway, journaling feels weird, but somehow blogging is ok... go Figure. It's probably just because I need attention all the time to feel valid.

 Ok, talk soon gentle reader.
  All the best,
 Kev.

This I like.

Seriously, I love it.
I love this show, and all it represents.

So now I live in Geneva

A Room with a view.
Well... My room anyway.

So now I live in Geneva... and that kinda just happened.
Since last we met my life has changed very dramatically, too dramatically to go into, but the long and short of it is, I left theatre 2 years ago to get into psychology, and essentially that has led me to here; living with a family in Switzerland who have 2 autistic adult sons, one of whom, needs a little extra supervision.

The experience so far has been exhilarating, and moving, and confirming, and has kinda left me with some ideas that I don't have words for, and more certainty around ideas I've read in the past.

As most of you know I've been engrossed in the Human Givens form of therapy since 2010, and in working and living with bot an Aspie and someone with profound ASD I can see where the "Waterbaby Theory" and the Caetextia ideas came from. Getting to work hands on with these ideas, while still having time to read ("Reality is broken"; great book if you like humans and games) and getting to build a sense of rapport with these guys, not to mention the rest of the family has been intriguing, a little trying, but mostly just gratifying. The fact that they are both adults has added an interesting spin to this experience.

I'd really like to use this blog as a place to work this out in my head, and to maintain it better then I have in the past, but we all know I've made that promise before, so lets see how that goes.

Good luck and God bless gentle reader, hopefully I'll talk to you soon.

New things

 Hello friend.
Well the moving and shaking has moved and shook and now is the time for change to be official.
The music thing is going really well and so I have launched a blog to catalog the ups and downs of  that particular adventure with flippant attention to detail. Playing under the name Great!... in small doses I have reached the dizzying heights of mediocrity only dremt of in my wildest... eh, drems? And so, as most of my focus is directed towards that and the various offshoots of fancy that lead therefrom, that blog will be the one I focus most of my attention on.
But I am now and allways will be the groovetroll and so I shall walk these vivid pastures from time to time, with musings and rants to nerdy or meta for the regular gig goer.

So not good bye, merely... until we meet again.

Yours
If you cry then i'll start crying...

A tragedy? Maybe...

I'm into my second longrun show in the Bell, and it's a really good one by the looks of things. It's called The Revengers Tragedy and It's got loads of folk involved that i've known for years and some folk I haven't but who are also lovely. Add to that a great set, stirring writing and a cast who all rock many many kasbah's simultaniously, and you can see why i'ne enjoying it. I'm still finding sleeping to be more of a battle then it should be, but I do feel that'd be because I'm somewhat over stimulated with all the change and I must say that I'm feelin good and I'm sure once I get the ball rolling on some of the things that have had me thinkin' so much, the rythm and the release will allow me the sweet slumber I crave. I also must add that I still find the ego-centric act of blogging in itself to be a really fascinating thing. To be honest, I think I feel another of my pattented treaties ( nice word for rants ) comin' on... But not tonight, I'm gonna go see if sleep will embrace me for a couple hours till I gotta hit the Bell again. Goodnight sweet reader, and have a savage tomorrow. Hmmm, there really is no way to make that sentiment not sound cheesey... Oh well, now we know. Tawkchoo kid!!

Why is it so hard....

...To keep blogging? Hahaha you were terrified there was gonna another whingy rant there weren't you!! I'm simply blogging now because I decided as I was going back over this fortress of random, that there is plenty more random in me and just because I don't need to blog for the catharsis it provides is no reason to not bless the inter-web with my own personal brand of narcissistic diatribe. I have had an eventful year thus far. There has been work and gigs and a special and self imposed absence of romantic entanglements... for the most part. Every time one of them crops up and then meanders into nothingness I get left with a nagging feeling that I just narrowly dodged a bullet. In the purely emotional sense of the cliche. The music thing gets progressively more fun and keeps me smiling, and so I soldier on, delighted by the fact that I have met the folk I've met through the band and delighted to be a part of music we've made. The work thing... keeps happening, people keep giving me money and so I keep doing my job, but I must say that my wandering feet need me to get to steppin', assuming that my drift is caught. I have made some new homies, and thus am enjoying the newness that brings into my life, my sense is, that these friendships will last and in that comfy way where even if all thats left are memories they will be pleasant ones. So all told, I am a happy troll. Content in my space and time and comfortable with the Idea of new change and challenges. Who knows when net I'll grace the worlds ethereal consciousness with my presence, but be told that I'm good and I'm sure if shit goes wrong the 4 people that read this will know, because I'll be back on this thing with a freaking vengence. God Bless and Allah'u'Abha the groove troll.

The videological presentation of musical shenaniganising

This is the video blog of my bands recording session, it may be the best thing i've ever been involved in. Please enjoy.
